With Apple releasing the latest version of their iPhone operating system, iOS 14, you now have the ability to display widgets from your favorite apps on your homescreen. These are large, interactive areas that provide greater information and quick access to the most-used functions of the apps they represent. At a glance, you can get a quick and convenient update, without having to open up the app itself.

Today, PayPay is introducing its own widgets for those on iOS 14.

We have two widgets available, using the small and medium sizes that Apple has made available. The smaller size will display your current balance, allowing you to see how much you have available to spend before you open PayPay.

The medium-sized widget will display your balance, as well as two icons allowing you to open up either the scan or barcode screen – helping you quickly jump to making an in-store payment. You will also be able to view the PayPay balance you are due to receive as cash back bonus.

Setting up your widgets

PayPay widgets can be added to your home screen by following the steps below. Ensure you have updated both your iPhone OS version to the latest available, and are running PayPay version 2.45.0 or above.

Step 1. On the home screen, tap and hold the PayPay icon until the dropdown menu is displayed. Select the first item on the menu, edit the home screen.

Step 2. Your home screen will move to edit mode, where your app icons begin to shake, allowing you to remove or drag them to a new location. At the top of the screen, ta on the plus icon.

Step 3. You will then see a list of apps that offer widgets on your phone. Select PayPay.

Step 4. On the following view, swipe left or right to choose between the small or medium widget. Once you are ready, tap the blue button to add the widget to your home screen.

You will be returned to the default home screen view, with the PayPay widget now displayed.
